Philosophy of Counseling

I believe in the power of counseling to heal, empower, and transform lives. My philosophy is rooted in a trauma-informed, person-centered approach that recognizes the profound ways trauma can shape perception, behavior, and self-worth. Through a holistic, biopsychosocial lens, I aim to help clients understand how their experiences live in their body and mind, while guiding them toward reconnection and resilience.

Clinical Skills and Theory Development

My clinical skills are grounded in trauma-informed care and guided by evidence-based modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). I integrate these approaches to help clients identify and reframe maladaptive thought patterns while building emotional regulation and distress tolerance skills.

Research and Scholarly Activity

Although I have not yet conducted formal research, I actively engage with current literature to strengthen my understanding of trauma-focused interventions. I strive to use evidence-based treatments to provide the most effective, compassionate care to clients.

Wellness Plan & Self Care

One cannot take care of others if they do not take care of themselves first. To ensure ethical, effective treatment of clients, counselors must actively engage in self-care. I prioritize self-care through practicing yoga and mindfulness, spending time with loved ones or in nature, and setting healthy boundaries to prevent burnout.
